The Bleed

Reality is splitting, and Earth is only the first world to feel it.

Dr. Evelyn Booker has spent twenty years studying the Many-Worlds Interpretation, chasing the idea that many realities occupy the same space and time, but cannot interact or perceive one another. She expects skepticism, not catastrophe. But when her lab detects an impossible signal arriving from multiple locations at once, she realizes that something is wrong - the barriers between realities are failing. Within hours, the world begins to fracture. A strange spaceship crashes on a farm in Ukraine and vanishes. Strange creatures appear in deserts. A castle of iron and metal materializes above Tokyo. A forest blooms in the middle of London. Governments call it hysteria. Evelyn knows better: the bleed has begun.

As the many realities destabilize, entire highways slip into alternate cities, buildings change architecture in seconds, and people glimpse versions of themselves from other realities. As governments and nations struggle, emergency coordinator Marcus Morose does his best to manage the chaos in overlap zones where realities collide and vanish. At the same time, Evelyn uncovers evidence that the impossible signal is growing stronger, as if something is actively tearing their reality apart. Amid the collapse, she encounters the Archivist, a mysterious being partly transparent, with fragments of other worlds visible through its body. The Archivist reveals that realities are not colliding by chance. They are bleeding into one another, and many have already died.

Then the visitors come. A merchant from a biologically engineered world appears in Paris. Winged predators nest above Sydney. A whole city of strange humanoids materializes in Canada. The Iron Collective, a civilization of peaceful machine intelligences, arrives with technologies that can reshape matter and stabilize damaged regions. But another force emerges too: General Krag, a warlord from a reality forged by endless conflict. His armies establish fortified beachheads across Earth, and soon cities, nations, and alliances begin to fall. What starts as a scientific anomaly becomes a war between realities.

As ecosystems mutate, forests become intelligent, roads grow roots, and continents fracture into overlapping zones, Evelyn realizes the crisis cannot be solved inside any single universe. The Archivist reveals a dimensional map pointing to an ancient structure outside conventional existence that may be causing it all. To reach it, Evelyn must cross impossible worlds with Marcus, Ava, and the fragile help of strangers from collapsing realities.

The bleed has started. The question is whether anything can survive what comes through.
